Intersection is a leading edge arts and community development organization with more than 47 years of grassroots experience bringing people together across boundaries to instigate change. With the 5MProject and 5MPlaceWorks we are helping to prototype the next generation of urban development that embraces diversity of thought, life experience and culture as essential to positive economic and social change in our neighborhoods.
SF MAYOR’S OFFICE OF CIVIC INNOVATION
The San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Civic Innovation aims to introduce new ideas and approaches to solve long-standing challenges. We believe that government needs to think like a lean startup: agile, scrappy and customer- focused.
The 5M Project is a creative development at 5th and Mission St, designed to support an increasingly interconnected economy and urban culture. We are transforming a development project into an urban ecosystem for social and economic innovation, powered by a culture of shared resources and ideas across traditional boundaries.
5MPlaceWorks is a new program led by Intersection for the Arts in collaboration with the 5M Project and Policy Link. It is a solution that transforms the policy-driven community benefits of an urban development project – the 5M Project – into a more sustainable opportunity for social and economic inclusion.
